You're never too
old to smile. Which means you're never too old to improve your appearance
and your health with orthodontics. Adult teeth seldom require more
treatment time than a child's although the earlier treatment care
is started, the easier treatment can be. Orthodontic treatment has
no target age and we have treated patients ranging in age from three
(3) to seventy-four (74).
Because many people
have grown up with poor bites, they are much more susceptible to gum
disease and subsequently, the loss of tendency for remaining teeth
to shift. Proper orthodontic care can restore your bite and help you
smile with confidence. And contrary to popular belief, orthodontics
is not something to postpone until a child is older. Beginning orthodontic
treatment between the ages of 5 and 10 is actually the easiest time
for both children and their parents. At these ages, there's rarely
a need for removal of teeth. And because young children have a cooperative,
enthusiastic attitude about braces, the amount of time necessary for
treatment is often reduced. Now that's something to smile about.
